Dear Jorie,
I kind of fell down on writing these letters. Life got so busy I just kinda didn't have the motivation to sit down to write a letter to you. I'm sorry.
In the weeks since my last letter to you we've been busy. I think the highlight for you would have to be last weekend, which was the first Halloween where we actually took you out trick or treating. We went out with Zetta and Jaimee around their neighborhood. You were a lion and Zetta was a black cat. We did about half the houses on their street! You and Zetta got the idea after the first couple of houses and would run to the next house (with a lot of falling down) and try to be the first to ring the door bell and get, as Zetta exclaimed "YAY! Door Candy!" It was cold and rainy out, but it didn't seem to bother either of you.
The week before halloween, we also had a serious scare with you. You caught some nasty respiratory virus that had you coughing and wheezing very badly. When we took you to the doctor the doctor said something I hope to never hear again "We'll do everything we can to keep her out of the hospital." Everything involved oral prednazone, an inhaler with a steroid in it, and when you refused to take the inhaler, a nebulizer with the same steroid. You were sick and home from daycare for about a week. The steroids made you a miserable mess too, so it was no fun for any of us.
One big moment that I need to remember to immortalize came just the other day. We were sitting around in the living room and you picked up a paper and crayon and said you were going to draw a monster. Then you made a big circle for the head, and put three little circles in it, which you said were the eyes. They you made a scribble at the bottom of the circle which you said were the "teeth and tongue." It was your very first recognizable representational drawing. You proceeded to draw another "monster" drawing this one with a head, eyes and "feet". I think this was on Friday or Saturday. It was a big moment!
I love you so much Jorie Bear. I promise to try to write more of these letters!

Weeks up to 115...
Dear Jorie,
I'm again having to apologize for not keeping up with the letters to you. I find it so hard to find the time or motivation to write these lately. The last few weeks in particular have been action packed, with Your Uncle Chris and Aunt Kim's wedding in Chicago on August 30th, and all the summer things we've tried to do packed in around it.
You were a flower girl in the Wedding. It was amazing. You were adorable. Right before we walked down the aisle you were totally melting down, but you did the walk calmly and cutely. You did start melting down after I handed you off to your Father though, so he had to take you outside and walk you around a bunch.
You stole the show every chance you got too. My favorite story is right before we took you up to the room, you ran around like mad trying to find "AUNT KIIIIIM!" when we found her, You reached up and took her hands and said "Aunt Kim! Dance with me!" and then you, Kim and your Uncle Chris went out on the dance floor, and you "boogied" out there without Me or Your Father, for an entire song.
You're talking so much now, and in these really amazing complex sentances. You continually say things that amaze us, that make us laugh, that astound us. Last night at Ross Family Dinner, you pointed at Wesley and said "That's my best friend."
Your favorite things to do right now are "Shake my booty!" and "Boogie!" to music. To draw, everywhere you can, with markers if you can get your hands on them, brushing your "little rainbow dash, little pinky pie and big rainbow dash" dolls hair, and running, always the running.
You got out of your room for the first time this Saturday. Your father and I were asleep. Your father says he heard you moving around and kind of grunting, I woke up when you shut the door to our room. I saw your head bobbing along as you ran around the bed and popped up in front of me and said "Good morning Mommie! Time to get up!" We think you managed to crawl under the gate across your door.
Today you took out one of the "book shelf" shelves we have on your wall, the middle one. I was changing for work and I heard a crash, when I came in your room you were just standing at the door trying to look innocent. When I asked you what happened you said "I knock it over." The middle shelf was pulled out of the wall and lying in a mess of books on the floor. I think you had tried to climb them, but I'm not sure.

Main Trip - Year two
Dear Jorie,
I have been having a hard time finding the time to write these letters to you. It seems like the more I have to write about, the less I want to spend time sitting down to write about it all.
So much has happened since my last letter to you.
Your father and I spent an afternoon converting your room into a "toddler room" one weekend, your crib is now a toddler bed. We took the changing table out of your room and the rocker (for safety), and put up some "bookshelves" on the wall, and put a pouf for sitting on the floor, moved some of the furniture around (and bolted some of it to the wall for safety!) I also finally got around to putting some of the monkey wall decals up on the wall for you. You've been sleeping in your toddler bed for two weeks (and then the pack'n'play in Maine) without any issues.
Then last week was the trip up to Vinalhaven, Maine with one side of your Fathers family. We split the drive (it's almost 10 hours total) over two days, and stayed at a hotel outside of Boston both on the way up and the way back. You did really well in the car on all four legs of the drive.
Maine was amazing. We stayed in a cabin on Old Harbor Pond with your Uncle Michael, Aunt Becky, and Cousins Wesley and Sienna. The rest of the group was over in the family house and cabin on the Ocean.
The first night we were there, we were having dinner, and you were running around on the lawn with your Father, and you kept running up to people and giving them flowers. What amazed us was that without either me or your father keeping track, you gave one flower to each person. You didn't miss anyone, or give anyone two. You also remembered everyones names, even if you couldn't quite say them right.
You had such a good time, running and hiking and playing. It was amazing (and tiring) having you on the island this year.
The only really exasperating thing on the trip was that you started emulating all of your cousins behavior. You stopped using your words when he was around, and would instead scream for things. You started throwing more tantrums, and basically regressing in general. That behavior, thankfully, stopped as soon as they left (they left on thursday, and we stayed through saturday.)
One of the highlights of the trip was when we got a ride on a lobster boat. You had a great time enjoying the wind and spray on the boat, and were absolutely enthralled when the lobsterman pulled up some pots for us, and you got to see the live lobsters.
I'm really glad that you will grow up with summers in Maine. It really is an amazing thing to be able to do.
On our way off the island we met up with Kim and the gang (Abby, Finn, Goo, Grace and their Grandmother) We got frozen Yogurt, then coffee for the adults, and then hit a really cool playground. You and Goo (whose real name is Tristan) really hit it off. We stayed playing on the playground until around 7, when we had to head out to get to the hotel before too late.
One of the things we noticed while up on the island, is that you now have conversations. You don't just state short facts, you will have three or four sentence long conversations, and express complex ideas. Your sentences are longer and more complex as well, and you sing or hum almost all the time.
I have so many pictures from Maine, it's going to be hard to pare them down for here, But I'll try.
I love you Jor-monster.
