30 Weeks

Dear Jorie,

This week, I am 30 weeks pregnant with you. About a week and a half ago, you gave us a big scare. I started having contractions and had to go to the hospital. Luckily the contractions died down and everything has been fine since then. I think you're as impatient to be born as we are to meet you, but you need to wait just a little longer!

You are certainly a mover and shaker now. And you're getting really strong! Your Dad still loves feeling when you kick, and he got to feel one of your new tricks the other day, where you push out against my tummy and then slide sideways.

I've been trying to be good with the Gestational Diabetes Diet, since it's not just my health at risk, although I've had a few days of high blood sugar. I saw the doctor today and she said my levels don't worry her, and you're measuring right on target (31 cm), so it looks like you're doing fine in there, even if it means I have to forgo Chocolate Cake >.<

The weather has turned cooler around here, so it looks like I'll still be spared the hottest days of summer while pregnant with you. Although it still seems like it will be plenty warm when you're born.

Your Dad and I have been slowly working on getting your Nursery together, although you won't be spending much time in there right away. Yesterday I organized and put away all the clothes we have for you already, we washed a giant load of baby clothes this weekend!

I've decided that I'm going to get belly photos taken, by your Aunt who is also an amazing photographer. We've talked about having a friend of the family do some Henna on my belly for the photo shoot. I think the photos will be an amazing keepsake of my pregnancy. I can't wait to show them to you when you're old enough to be amazed that you fit in my belly.

I can't wait to meet you baby girl. Only 10 more weeks to go!
